Office Suites, Word Processors, Notepads & Annotation

Updating…

The collection of resources and links are currently being moved from the old website to this new site. You may find that some of the links are out of date and do not lead anywhere.

EdTech, as is life, is a journey with many dead ends.

drive.google.comFantastic online office suite. You can share documents with your children or colleagues and edit them together in real time. Best used when each child has an account, but Google only lets you sign up a few accounts on one computer per day, so setting up may be a summer holiday job. Also, store any small file online instead of using a USB stick.
scribus.net/canvas/ScribusA really nice free alternative to MS Publisher, Scribus is easy to use and it can load/create compatible Publisher files for easy sharing. Lots of great functions including some useful templates.
quietwrite.comA really simple online word processor which seems to work on any device. Easy sharing and exporting to blogs like WordPress.
shutterb.orgA great quick online document editor. I often use this to start taking notes and download to finish later.
ietherpad.comietherpad is a superb real-time collaboration writing pad where you and others can write text at the same time.
springpublisher.comA nice publisher program download that lets you design and print cards, flyers and leaflets.
titanpad.comA great real-time collaboration writing pad where you and others can write text at the same time.
sync.inA collaborative notepad where users can share the link and make changes together in real time.
hashify.meA wonderful, but simple notepad site which generates a short link and QR code. Add text, links and images to your notes.
notes.ioA quick and simple notepad site. Write your note and share the shortened link.
pen.ioA text based, no frills notepad site. Works on every device I’ve tried it on (and I have many in various states of decay), so it makes an ideal site to work with text across platforms. Download text as a PDF or save it on the site and retrieve with a link and password.
onedrum.comEver wanted the full functionality of Microsoft Office with the collaborative element to Google Docs? Collaborate on documents in Microsoft Office with this great downloadable app. How very exciting!
wiki.ooo4kids.org/index.php/Main_PageA good office suite designed for young learners and is based on Open Office.
hackpad.comA superb collaborative notepad site. Easily link to and embed videos, audio, images, websites and other notepad pages.
liquidtext.netAn innovative iPad app for annotating documents, including PDFs, Word & PowerPoint docs, and even websites. Documents can be imported from and exported to popular cloud storage platforms and be saved as PDFs or RTF formats. Highlighted text can be view in isolation, meaning you have a ready-made set of notes.
whinkapp.comA great note-taking app for iPad. You can type, draw or write handwritten notes and save or share them.
apps.microsoft.com/detail/9nblggh5gk42A superb Windows app which turns your touchscreen PC into a powerful note and sketch pad with a huge range of tools.
easywrite.parishod.comA ‘no distraction’ online writer which highlights common words to either make writing very clear, or to encourage pupils to improve their vocabulary choices.
